Arctic omul is most commonly found in the Arctic Ocean, spawning in the cold waters of the North, Asia, or America. This fish is quite selective, choosing only clean, oxygen-rich waters for spawning and habitat. This characteristic ensures that its meat is free from harmful chemicals and heavy metals. The taste is somewhat reminiscent of ideal mackerel (although it has no relation to that species), but without excessive fish fat and any strong, intrusive aroma.
