Crab meat from the spider crab is more tender and refined compared to that of the African crab. It is most commonly used in sandwiches. The shredded meat can be used in a wide variety of recipes where "imitation crab" is mentioned, resulting in a noticeably different quality. When processing the spider crab, the meat is mixed with by-products such as liver and other internal organs. Despite its unusual appearance, this does not spoil the crab's flavor; instead, it adds sophistication and special tenderness. This large crab can reach a diameter of up to 20 cm and a weight of up to 4 kg, and it is highly valued both within Galicia and beyond. The production is carried out entirely at sea using specialized cooking and freezing systems in accordance with international commissions and regulations. All crabs are wild-caught.

Do not use a microwave! Quick thawing in the microwave will cause the crab meat to lose its flavor and nutritional value, and it will become dry.
